Tom Higdon Retirement Concert

Some of you Lemon Grove Junior High/Middle School alums will appreciate this photo. Do you recognize everybody?

Comments:
Blast from the past, man. I'm 21 now and heard "King Size" The first mearch we played while I was in his band. Had to look up a picture of this guy. Ms. Keller looks the same but Mr Higdon looks pretty old. Wait, I just saw the caption! He's retired? Wow!

I used to be in Lemon Grove Middle School's Orchestra back in '94...He was a tough teacher but great! Omg and Ms. Keller, wow...it's amazing to see their faces again. Ms. Keller doesn't look the same to me neither does Mr. Higdon :( I'll be 33 this year...crazy... <3

Me and my sisters Sandy and Angie had Mr. Higdon as our music teacher back in 1987 to 1996. Yep the Ramirez Trio lol. He was tough but when it comes to music, he's very passion of it. My most memorable times when we all played movie soundtracks from Jurassic Park and Aladdin. :) Thank you, Mr. Tom Higdon

I found this page while giving in to my reminiscing about "the glory daze" when I was living in La Mesa.

I took lessons from Mr. Higdon when I was in 6th grade at Vista La Mesa as a drummer. I ended up in the LGJH band and orchestra from 83-85 and a great deal of my musical education was shaped by Mr. Higdon and Ms. Keller. It's been ages but I'm pretty sure I can still play the trio from "King Size" from memory as I still find myself humming it from time to time despite all the years that have passed. I know I'm late to this party, but Tom was a fine instructor and human being. I hope his and Ms. Keller's retirements have been wonderful.
