Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2009

Today I want to praise and thank Dr. King for his labors, his love, and his life. I want to thank Heavenly Father for directing him and sustaining him.

My own father sensed Dr. King's greatness and took our family so hear him preach a sermon in this chapel in New Haven. This is a recent photo of the chapel. I was eleven or twelve at the time of the sermon.

This photo, taken December 31, 2001, is of the Lorraine Motel, where Dr. King spent his last evening and morning. Today the building houses the American Civil Rights Museum. Simon, Mom, and I were in Memphis, and I am so gled we were able to visit this site.
