New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania July 23-25

The following photos chronicle a wonderful weekend with Seth. It was the highlight of my summer!

Making the scene in New York

Saturday night in the Village. (I think my head hit the pillow at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.) This shot is inside Bigraphy Bookshop, Inc. I purchased Sun Tzu's The Art of War.

Commuting to church

If I'm not mistaken, the buildings above Seth's head are his apartment complex. If I'm wrong, it's the same neighborhood, at least.

Sunday meetings..."downtown"

You can barely make out the Angel Moroni looking down on Seth.

Jazz on a Sunday afternoon

The program starts with a spiritual song, and then launches into cool jazz. If you read Seth's blog, you can get some more background on this beautiful "North Harlem" tradition. The bassist is the acclaimed "Walking Bass", Bob Cunningham.

Ground Zero

I appreciated the reverence shown by the authorities and by the public. You can see the covered sections of subway already functioning in the open pit that will one day be the new Center.

Seth's friend...¡Viva la República Dominicana!

Seth and a good friend, "Manny". He braved New York traffic to rescue us from the "Canyon." What a guy! Behind them is the Hudson River and Manhattan.

Gas stop on the way home from West New York

Susquehanna River along Interstate 81 in Pennsylvania. Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were baptized in this river, though not at this spot.

Samuel's archery score!

Samuel shows real promise as an archer. He manipulated the equipment with little difficulty, and had few stray arrows. Most importantly, he stuck with it until his fingers were just too sore to go on.

Qualified "Sharpshooter" today. I hope I never have to use this skill.

Idea for a pro-life or pro-adoption campaign.

Well, I wasn't successful...

If I'm successful, I'll post some images and maybe a movie from the 4th of July in San Diego.
